A podcast about movies that have a rating of 2 ½ stars on netflix. This week we watched

Scary Movie 5 (2013) Rated PG-13
Directed by: Malcolm D Lee and David Zucker (uncredited)
Written by: David zucker and Pat Proft
Stars: Ashley Tisdale, Simon Rex, Gracie Whitton, and Ava Kolker
IMDB Synopsis: A couple begin to experience some unusual activity after bringing their lost nieces and nephew home. With the help of home-surveillance cameras, they learn they’re being stalked by a nefarious demon.

Lots of cameos like, Charlie Sheen, Lindsay Lohan, Darrell Hammond (from SNL), Snoop Dogg, Molly Shannon, Kat Williams, Terry Crews, Usher

Fake Morgan Freeman Voice: Josh Robert Thompson

What did you think

The first scene I was instantly annoyed. It was really stupid bad acting and trying too hard to make you laugh with their dumb sex scene. The movie makes me think of a bunch of family guy cut scenes only really bad.

Our Rating RDMA Really Dumb Mature Audiences

Erik ½ star
Kelly ¼ star
Ricky ⅛ star
Jason ¼ star
Steve 5 star

Dying Light
Published by: Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment
Developed by: Techland
Platforms: PC, Linux, Playstation 4 and Xbox One

Reviewed by: Jason Spear

Dying Light is an open-world survival horror game. It was released January 2015 and developed by the creators of Dead Island. Where Dead Island was rough around the edges with sub-par graphics & many flaws, Dying Light delivers a crisp and clean gaming experience, which allows this beautiful open-world game the ability to draw you in like few games can.

The game begins with the player parachuting into what looks like the Middle East. Once you land, you can’t even catch your breath before getting attacked by humans. If that’s not bad enough, you are then bitten by a zombie (mmm brains) then saved by two people from one of the last good places around.  You wake up days later in a small community that’s trying to survive in this undead wasteland. The first time you leave the confines of safety you quickly realize just how big this world really is. Minutes turn into hours as you lose yourself in this world, killing zombies in a variety of ways, that are actually believable. But you’ll just have to play the game to find out why you haven’t turned into a zombie yet.

Dying Light has a lot of side quests as well.  These allow you to help other survivors with their problems, sometimes netting you some decent rewards like weapons and cash. The main story is better than most games with twists, turns, and an ending that makes the whole game that much better.

I recommend that you give Dying Light a chance. The developer clearly spent a lot of time polishing this game into one of the best games of 2015.

Hey guys!!! It’s Steve with Death by Lag. This week in Alien: Isolation I learn that apparently hiding under a bed no longer works to keep monsters from attacking you. It may require the added protection of a blankie.

Hey guys!!! It’s Steve with Death by Lag. So this video is a lie. What you are about to see does not exist, but Erik and Ricky said I should post this anyways so here they are running around killing deformed Goatmen, that… moo?

Croczilla 2012

Original Title: Bai wan ju e (maybe means Million dollar Crocodile)
Directed/written: by Li Sheng Lin
Stars: Tao Guo-Wang Beiji(cop/dad), Barbie Hsu (crazy Money lady) Wen Yan, Suet Lam(Fat bad guy with gross hairy mole) character name?
IMDB Synopsis: A 36 foot crocodile goes on the rampage in Beijing after being moved from a peaceful Crocodile Farm and onto the menu of a local gangster.

What did you think of it

Steve: Overall did not like this movie. The lady was annoying and she had a really weird neck seemed too long or something. Cop was a continuous fuck up. and the little boy was fucking annoying. The crocodiles never did the death roll thing they do when they eat. Croczilla was too fucking fast on land. I don’t think you can push enough air to shoot one of those darts into the side of the crocodile

Erik 3 stars
Ricky 3 stars
Kelly 2 Stars
Steve 2 stars

Life Is Strange: Episode 1, Chrysalis
Developed by: Dontnod Entertainment
Published by: SquareEnix
Platforms: XBOX ONE, XBOX 360, PS4, PS3 and PC

Review By Kelly Anderson

What if you could turn back time? What if you could press the rewind button and get a “do-over” and fix any wrongs that come your way? Would you change anything? In “Life Is Strange”, you can rewind, you can change your choices and your consequences. In this 5 part episodic game, the player has control of their own actions by just a push of a button.

The game opens with an 18 year old girl named, Max Caulfield. She is face down in the mud, and there is a storm in her hometown of Arcadia Bay, Oregon. Max has no recollection on how she got there, she sees a lighthouse up ahead where she is able to walk to in hopes of understanding why she is in this place all by herself. As she walks toward the lighthouse in order to put some “light” on the subject, Max wakes up but realizes that it wasn’t a dream because she was not sleeping. All of a sudden she is in her 12th grade photography class at Blackwell Academy, which is a private school for 12th grade seniors.

After a dangerous incident at her school, Max learns about her new, amazing gift. She is able to rewind time and help out her fellow classmates.

So now it comes down to the player to decide the fate of the game. What decisions will you make? What consequences will occur? Throughout the game the player will be using Max’s journal as a reference of what has happened. In the journal, the player will find a section of some photo opportunities to unlock achievements. I unfortunately didn’t know how this worked until maybe ¾ of the way thru, so I went back and played episode 1 again. I came to discover that all decisions will impact the past, present and future, although the consequences for most actions are not yet present. As the player, you want to look at everything because it might help future actions and consequences. I like that I can look through the character’s belongings to learn more about them.

In Life Is Strange, I noticed what gorgeous hand-painted graphics were in this game; the way the wind blows thru the trees to the mannerisms of the characters, the visuals were quite realistic. The game has some beautiful music accompanying throughout the game, and it really sets the mood and emotions of what Max and the other characters are feeling. The story brought me in very quickly, it is very captivating and grabs your attention. I can’t wait to begin episode 2 as I hear that the game gets even darker. Needless to say, I am hooked!
