Title: Plague Inc: Evolved
Developer: Ndemic Creations
Publisher: Ndemic Creations
Release Date: Feb 20, 2014

Previewed by: Rick Burnett

Whether you have played the Plague Inc. mobile game or are just trying it out for the first time you will not be disappointed. A lot of people are a little sceptical about ported mobile games, but Ndemic Creations have shown how to port a game correctly. Very little is changed from the mobile game to the pc version. The starting menu is a bit different but I find it a nice change from the mobile version start up menu. The only other thing that I find different from the mobile version is the order in which the various plagues become available.

The interface is smooth and after hours of continuous play I have not encountered any bugs or glitches. You’ll start out playing with a simple bacteria. This does a tremendous job at teaching you the basics of the game. The goal of Plague Inc. is to infect all of humanity with some kind of pathogen and attempt to kill everyone in the world. As you play you’ll discover your favorite play style. Some like to play it slow and infect everyone before scientists discover your plague others like to infect a good amount of people but then develop symptoms to help spread the plague and destroy mankind.

As you progress through the game you’ll unlock new plague types each with their own unique perks and challenges. You’ll need to experiment with new tactics to annihilate humanity. Should the main game get a little tedious there’s always the scenario option.
The scenario feature brings in all sorts of crazy experiences; how would you like to infect everyone with happiness after the world governments ban it, or you could unleash the Bubonic plague upon the world and try to evolve it to make it effective in modern days.

Always remember that plague Inc. is actually a plague simulator so try to think of what would happen in the real world when spreading your plague. This game has given me hours and hours of enjoyment and when I leave my house I can still play the mobile version of the game. I highly recommend this game to anyone and everyone so come and be a part of the total destruction of mankind.

Pudding Monsters
Developed by: Zeptolab
Platforms: IOS and Android

Reviewed by: Jason Spear

Pudding monsters, developed by Zeptolab the minds behind Cut the Rope, is a “deliciously addicting puzzle adventure,” where you need to move the monsters around on a table to join them all together. You move them by swiping left right up or down and they slide until they run into another monster or an object in their path, but be careful because if they hit nothing and slide off the table you lose. As you make your way through this game new abilities are unlocked for the monsters and new objects are added to the levels making the game more challenging as you progress.

Progressing through the game requires you to earn coins. This is done with star-tiles placed on the ground. When the monsters are all attached together correctly you will be on top of 3 stars earning you the maximum number of coins to move on but if you are on 0 1 and 2 stars you receive less coins. To earn the maximum number of coins per level it must be completed with 0 1 2 & 3 stars and If you have completed the level in every way you are awarded a gold crown.

With responsive controls and clean graphics, I found Pudding Monsters enjoyable to play for short periods of time,. The puzzles weren’t terribly difficult yet sometimes frustrating. Overall I feel like Pudding Monsters is a decent game and is worth giving a try.
